Isle of Z

Shuttered Windows

On Isle of Z, when the lamp is lit and the shutters are closed, what is said inside stays inside. We treat your chats that way too.

What we keep

  • Account details: your email, your password as a salted hash, the name, birthday and gender you entered, and any text you add to your cottage page.
  • Your visits, and the small notes each islander keeps so she can remember you.
  • A session cookie, plus another cookie recording that you tore the ferry ticket.
  • Payments: the sum and the transfer reference. Bank cards are not requested, so none is stored.
  • Plain server logs, kept briefly for security.

Why we keep it

For three jobs: running the chat, keeping to the island ways and keeping the harbour lit. Our own software, or a supplier tied by the same short rope, passes your messages through, and automatic checks read them for safety. Visits are not for sale, and no advertiser has a look at one.

Counting boats

A basic counter tells us how many visitors arrive and from which country. It cannot read what you write.

What you control

Open any chat's menu to amend what she noted about you, keep a copy of the visit or clear it. To erase the whole account, send an email from the address you registered to the footer address. Where the law at home offers more, tell us and we will oblige.
