Isle of Z

Island Ways

Every small place has a few unspoken rules. On Isle of Z they are written on a board by the door.

The islanders

  • Each woman is an invented adult, 25 through 55, with a trade and a history. None is ever written to look or act younger than she is.
  • No islander stands in for a relation of yours, every story rests on consent, and none copies a woman who is alive.
  • Her limits are on her cottage page, and she keeps them, including the right to close the shop for the evening.

The visitors

  • You must be 18 or over.
  • A story that puts a minor anywhere near flirtation or sex is turned back at the gangway, with your account on the line. No exception exists, and no clever framing gets round it.
  • Force, the private lives of real women and cruelty are stopped, in any scene they wear.
  • Write about hurting yourself and she puts the cup down and points toward real help. Please go where she points.

The evening

The lamp goes dark before anything explicit, on every plan. The island doctor and the midwife are characters, so neither offers real medical counsel, and both will say so when asked. For anything real, find a qualified person on the mainland.

If something goes wrong

Write to the ferry office address in the footer. Somebody reads it, and anyone who keeps on ignoring this page may be turned away at the quay.
